AMBITIOUS Genius “Ginimbi” Kadungure has secured the signature of popular Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter, Patoranking.
Ginimbi, who has since ventured into music promotion, is hoping that Patoranking will be as successful as fellow countryman Davido who had a full house for his performance at the HICC in April.
Dates for the gig are yet to be finalised.
“We have agreed on everything else and what is left is to finalise on the date of the show and the date will be convenient to both the musician and the promoter.
“Once we secure a suitable date then we will be able to release more information with regards the show, like the venue and supporting acts. But obviously he will make an appearance at Club Sankayi,” said Ginimbi yesterday.
Born Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie 28 years ago, Patoranking grew up inspired by the likes of Buju Banton, Lucky Dube, Tuface, Fela Kuti, and other greats of reggae, dancehall and Afro-beat. He then channeled these influences into his own unique style and began releasing original music in 2012.
He has produced a number of hits that include This Kind Love, No Kissing Baby, My Woman, My Everything and also features on Nasty C’s popular track, Particula.
